CROMWELL, Conn. (WFSB) – Wednesday at the Travelers Championship is Celebrity Pro-Am Day, and celebrities were spread across the course as fans turned out for sightings and autographs.
Channel 3 sports anchor Marc Robbins reported from TPC River Highlands, where the afternoon pro-am rounds included several UConn-related appearances.
UConn football coach Jason Candle was cheered on by fans. The crowd also roared for UConn hockey coach Mike Cavanaugh.
UConn alum and NBA player Andre Drummond was also on the course.
“I’m excited,” Drummond said.
Candle and the Huskies will be in camp soon. UConn’s first game is scheduled for Sept. 5 against Lafayette on WFSB, Channel 3.
