The full Avatar Aang trailer is now finally out. Even though the trailer also confirmed its Paramount+ release date, the video just further proved to fans why Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender movie deserves to be seen in theaters. This comes nearly three months after the highly anticipated animated film was leaked online. Shortly after the incident, Paramount+ conducted an investigation that ended with the arrest of a 26-year-old suspect in Singapore, who might be facing a prison sentence.
“Based on the animated series created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, this new story in the Avatar universe sees Aang learn of an ancient power that could save his culture from extinction. With the help of his friends, he embarks on a global quest to find it before it falls into the wrong hands and threatens to upend the peace they sacrificed everything to achieve,” reads the official synopsis.
Avatar Aang features the voices of Steven Yeun, Eric Nam, Dave Bautista, Freida Pinto, Ke Huy Quan, Taika Waititi, Geraldine Viswanathan, Jessica Matten, Román Zaragoza, Dionne Quan, Ronny Chieng, and Ken Jeong. It is directed by Lauren Montgomery, Steve Ahn, and William Mata, with Tim Hedrick and Christopher Yost writing the screenplay. DiMartino and Konietzko are both serving as producers.
Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender trailer review
Watching the Avatar Aang trailer, I was immediately drawn into the movie’s stunning animation style. As a fan of the original series, it was a clear upgrade from the 2D standard TV quality that we were used to seeing. It’s exciting to see these beloved characters come to life in a much more vibrant and cinematic visual that matches their growth in the movie. This alone is actually enough reason why fans should get the chance to watch it in theaters, where it was originally meant to be seen.
The action-packed sequences featured in the trailer also promised a stronger and more powerful Team Avatar, who we last saw together at the end of the original show’s Season 3 finale. The trailer did a great job of teasing each main character’s development, while also assuring fans that they’re still the characters we all know and love. Seeing these characters on the big screen would be a significant theatrical experience for any fan who grew up watching the show.
Giving Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender a theatrical release would be a way for Paramount Pictures to counteract the damage that the previous leak had caused to the animators and fans. This would give the creative team the validation they deserve for the years of hard work they’ve poured into the project. A theatrical release would also allow fans to celebrate the movie with the rest of the community.
