Arsenal came back to beat London rivals Chelsea in the Premier League last weekend and have now been handed a fresh Premier League title prediction
Arsenal are projected to finish the Premier League campaign on 77 points – eight fewer than last season. Mikel Arteta’s side were crowned champions for the first time in 22 years, amassing 85 points and suffering only five defeats.
They’ve made another strong start to the new season, winning all three matches, including a 2-1 comeback against Chelsea last weekend. The Gunners sit second, level on points with Manchester City.
Attention now turns to their Champions League opener against Napoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Wednesday, before a trip to Sunderland on Saturday night. City, meanwhile, face Portuguese giants FC Porto ahead of Sunday’s Manchester derby at Old Trafford.

Prior to Chelsea’s defeat to Arsenal, Xabi Alonso’s side had threatened to join the teams pushing at the top of the table and even now, only three points separate them, with Hull City sitting third. In the Premier League, Opta Analyst have released fresh projections for how they believe the final standings will look after the weekend’s fixtures.
Their model still has Arsenal retaining the Premier League title for a second successive season, finishing on 77 (77.90) points. City are predicted to end the campaign in second place with 71 (71.62) points – a six‑point gap if the numbers prove accurate.
Arsenal have also been handed a 54.48 per cent chance of being crowned champions, making them clear favourites to lift the trophy. By comparison, Enzo Maresca’s side have a 25 per cent chance of beating the Gunners to the title.
Arteta insists his side can climb to even greater heights after the champions sent a clear message to their title rivals with the win over the Blues. “I think it’s an indication for us of how we are capable of performing at an even higher level than last season,” he said after the match.
“It depends on how we maintain and sustain that desire, that humbleness, and continue every day to try to find a better version of myself and the team. We still have a lot to grow and a lot to offer. This is the ambition of the team.
“It is going to be super hard, the margins you win games. We went to Villa Park a few days ago and it was really tough. Today again. We’ll go to Sunderland and it’ll again be so, so tough. We know every week is going to be like this but that’s what we prepare for.”
With City predicted to finish second, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United are tipped to take third, fourth and fifth spot. Newcastle United are forecast to end the campaign in sixth, with Brighton & Hove Albion just behind them in seventh.
At the bottom end of the table, Fulham, Coventry City and Ipswich Town are expected to face the drop.
