Abbott Elementary star Lisa Ann Walter opened up about her choice not to join The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after being offered five times. Walter had a rather simple reason for turning down the offer, and explained the same in an interview posted on Instagram by Betches.
Walter portrays Melissa Schemmenti on Abbott Elementary. She has already received a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Ensemble in a Comedy Series for her role.

Lisa Ann Walter is renowned for her portrayal of Melissa Schemmenti on Abbott Elementary. The actress recently spoke out about why she rejected starring in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Walter revealed that she turned down the offer to join the show as many as five times. During her interview with Betches, a part of which was posted on Instagram, the 62-year-old dissected why she chose not to be a part of the show.
“I said, ‘I’m not a Housewife,’” Walter said about rejecting the reality TV show. “I don’t have a house, I don’t live in Beverly Hills. I’m not a wife. The only thing I’ve got is real,” she added.
Even though the producers came back to convince her multiple times, the actress was never up for displaying her private life on television.
“No shade to people who love this,” the actress further assured, “I watch 90 Day Fiancé, so who am I to judge?”
Lisa Ann Walter started in stand-up comedy. She began her screen stint with her own show, My Wildest Dreams (1995). Soon after, she followed it up with a sitcom appearance in Life’s Work.
Walter gained critical acclaim and commercial fame for her role in the Disney film The Parent Trap. Her other notable works include Bruce Almighty, Shall We Dance, and War of the Worlds, among others.
She will also return in the upcoming season of Abbott Elementary.
