A UK-authorised structured investments specialist, Causeway
Securities
, late last week confirmed that the Hong Kong
Securities and Futures Commission has granted its Hong Kong
subsidiary approval-in-principle. 

The subsidiary is Causeway Securities (HK) Limited. Full
authorisation is expected imminently, Causeway said in a
statement on Friday. 

The firm’s entry into the Asia-Pacific arena is takes its total
market presence to six since it was founded in Belfast, Northern
Ireland, in 2016. It is also present in London, South Africa, the
UAE, the European Union and the US.

Once licensed, Causeway Securities (HK) Limited will offer
professional and institutional clients in the region access to a
range of defined outcome investment strategies, it
said. 

“Asia has led the way in technological advancements in the asset
class and volumes consistently exceeded both the EU and Americas
combined,” Conor O’Donnell, CEO of Causeway Securities Ltd,
said.

Edward Liu, Asia CEO at Causeway Securities, said the firm is a
“strictly independent, pure-play structured product specialist
with no competing wealth management arm”.

Causeway Securities Ltd authorised as a brokerage by the
Financial Conduct Authority, and sister entities are registered
by regulators such as the SEC in the US, Portugal’s CMVM, the
DIFC in Dubai, and the Financial Conduct Authority in the UK.
