In just a week, the Premier League will return for the 2026/27 season, which also means it’s time to put together Fantasy Premier League lineups.
At DraftKings Network, we’ve already broken down the top 100 players overall for this season, and we’ll also go through our top 10, position-by-position. Here are my 10 favorite goalkeepers for the upcoming season, including both established stars and value options.

David Raya, Arsenal
Sometimes, the simplest solution is the best one, and there was no better goalkeeper in the Premier League last season than Raya. The Spaniard finished with the most TP and the most clean sheets, and while he made the fewest saves among any goalkeeper with at least 30 matches started, that’s more because Arsenal’s back line simply didn’t concede shots on target. A clean sheet is worth four points, and Raya benefits playing behind Gabriel and William Saliba, arguably the two best center-backs in the world. The Gunners star should continue to top these lists as long as he remains healthy.
Robin Roefs, Sunderland
Roefs was a breakout star last season, helping Sunderland finish seventh in the Premier League after many had the Black Cats tipped for relegation. He faced plenty of shots on target last season, as Sunderland allowed the most of any team to avoid the drop, allowing him to make 109 saves. Although saves are less valuable than clean sheets (each save is worth 0.33 points), he managed to keep 10, tied for the sixth-most. Sunderland allowed the fourth-fewest expected goals per shot on target, so most of his saves should be pretty straightforward.
Caoimhin Kelleher, Brentford
Like Roefs, Kelleher is a rare standout player on a team with an occasionally shaky back line. He ranked second in the Premier League in saves last season, behind only relegated Martin Dúbravka, and the Bees allowed the second-lowest quality shots in the league. He also kept a solid 10 clean sheets, tied with Roefs and Bart Verbruggen, and he actually made three penalty saves, two more than any other goalkeeper in the league. Brentford has also strengthened its defense this season, bringing in defensive midfielder Mamadou Sangaré, and it’s reportedly considering a move for former West Ham left-back El Hadji Malick Diouf.
Jordan Pickford, Everton
Pickford, who had a very strong World Cup performance with the English national team, quietly ranked seventh in saves and fourth in goals prevented for Everton last season, and he tied for third with 11 clean sheets. He also trailed only Raya, Kelleher, and Roefs in total points last season, and while season-to-season performance isn’t necessarily consistent, that’s always a good sign. The Toffees are in the market for a fullback, and they’ve been linked with Colombia’s Daniel Muñoz and DR Congo’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who were two of the better players for their respective countries at the World Cup.
Emiliano Martínez, Aston Villa
Martínez, a two-time Yashin Trophy winner, reminded the world of his pedigree during the World Cup final, making a record 11 saves, and he had a solid Premier League campaign, tying for 10th in saves and ranking third in save percentage. It’s possible that he could be forced to do a little bit more this season, as the Villans could take a step back in the defense after Lucas Digne’s and (possibly) Ezri Konsa’s departure. Last season, Villa allowed the eighth-fewest expected goals per shot, so Martínez could pad his stats through easy saves.
Gianluigi Donnarumma, Manchester City
Donnarumma ranked second in the Premier League in clean sheets last season with 15, because like Raya, he plays behind one of England’s best back lines. While the Sky Blues have some question marks, first and foremost surrounding the transfer status of Rodri and new manager Enzo Maresca, Nico O’Reilly, Marc Guéhi, Abdukodir Khusanov, Rayan Aït-Nouri and Joško Gvardiol are all young and should keep growing together, giving Donnarumma a fairly easy task. Like Raya, he won’t produce huge save numbers, and the fact that Manchester City allowed the second-highest quality shots last season is a concern, but the Italian led the league in save percentage last season and should be right in the middle of his prime at 27.
Ðorðe Petrović, AFC Bournemouth
Petrović tied for third in clean sheets and saves last season for an over-performing Bournemouth team, and he was also one of just four Premier League shot-stoppers to play all 38 of their team’s matches. The Serbian especially represents solid value at his £4.5 million salary, given that he registered more total points than Martínez last season despite the Argentine’s salary being £500,000 higher. The Cherries arguably upgraded their defense this season as they prepare to participate in the Europa League, bringing in Juanlu Sánchez from Sevilla.
Matz Sels, Nottingham Forest
Sels trailed only Donnarumma and Martínez in save percentage last season, and Forest allowed the fifth-most shots on target of any team to survive the drop, allowing him to rack up the second-most saves per 90 minutes of any player still in the top flight. The Foresters have made significant waves in the transfer market this summer, selling Elliot Anderson for a club-record transfer fee and using some of those funds to acquire Ousmane Diomande, an Ivorian who played last season for Sporting CP. Defensive midfielder Xaver Schlager, who helped RB Leipzig finish third in the Bundesliga table last season, should also help.
Senne Lammens, Manchester United
Lammens took six games to claim the starting role from Altay Bayındır last season, but he still managed to amass a solid 109 total points, leading the league in goals prevented. Manchester United is much like Arsenal in that it allows a relatively low number of low-quality shots, and with young defensive midfielder Andrey Santos now in the fold and Michael Carrick now around on a permanent basis, there’s reason to believe that the Red Devils could be even better defensively this season. Lammens had a rough World Cup campaign, spilling the ball for what ultimately proved to be the winner against Spain, but at 24 years old, he’s still a rising talent.
Carl Rushworth, Coventry City
Who’s going to be the Roefs of the 2026/27 season? The best goalkeeper in the Championship last season would be a good place to start. Rushworth kept 17 clean sheets, one more than Ipswich Town’s Christian Walton, and he also ranked fifth in saves and fourth in save percentage. Rushworth, Walton, and Hull City’s Konstantinos Tzolakis might well face the most shots on target in the league, but of the three, I trust Rushworth the most to stop the shots he faces. I also like the Sky Blues’ signings: Auréle Amenda started a majority of Frankfurt’s Bundesliga games last season as a 22-year-old, and Caleb Yirenkyi started in the defense for Nordsjælland towards the end of the 2025/26 season. Coventry could definitely survive the drop, and if it does, Rushworth will be a major reason why.
