Understandably, all eyes are on the new wide model, but it’s the Ultra that’s really caught my attention. And in particular, its stunning new purple model.

Whatever Samsung ends up calling it (rumours suggest ‘Violet Shadow’), there’s only one thing I need to know: what it looks like in person. If it’s anything as good as these images, we’re in for a treat.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 colour leaks
I’m really hoping that the deep purple shade comes to the other new Galaxy foldables, but there’s no sign that’ll be the case.
Instead, the wide Z Fold 8 looks set for a Samsung store-exclusive ‘Pistachio’ model that’s basically somewhere between very light green and light grey. In other words, incredibly boring. Ugh.

The group photo above does at least show it in an attractive light purple, or ‘Lavender’ as it’s likely to be known. Completing the pinky purple theme is the Z Flip 8, which appears above in some sort of pink colourway. Neither of these is as exciting as the deep purple on the Z Fold 8 Ultra, but I’m glad we’re getting some bright colour options, nonetheless.
As for the Z Flip 8’s online exclusive, Samsung is sticking with the same ‘Mint’ shade we saw on the Z Flip 7. I went hands-on with that model last year, and it’s…meh. I was hoping for something a bit more exciting. There will be other colours, of course, but they’re likely to be more muted shades of black and white.
