Music festivals in Hong Kong
Prepare for a splashing – sorry, smashing summer as not one but two water-based music festivals make their way to the city. Waterbomb , a South Korean music festival, will see K-pop superstars like Hyuna, Rain, Jessi and Jay Park perform against the backdrop of Hong Kong’s skyline. As you dance to the music, you’ll also be taking part in a giant water fight, with designated team colours – so come ready to square off.
S20 Songkran Music Festival is also back for another round this year from 8-9 June, bringing world-class DJs like Afrojack, Galantis and Alok to Victoria Harbourfront. Bring your swimsuit if you’re heading to the Wet Zone, where crowds will be pelted with gallons of water, then dip off to the Glam Zone to get your makeup and hair redone.
If you’re looking for sand and sea, Discovery Bay will be hosting beach festival The Next Wave again this year from 29-30 June, with local artists such as Tyson Yoshi, Pandora, Kolor and more taking to the stage. Food and lifestyle brands such as Benefit, Dough Bros, and Nosh will also be on hand if you need a break from dancing your heart out.
