Cooks Coffee Company Ltd (AQSE:COOK), the Esquires-branded café chain listed on NZX and AQUIS, has opened four new stores since the end of its financial year, with two in the UK and two in Ireland, alongside committed openings in new international markets.
The update came as the group reported preliminary results for the year to 31 March, showing total store numbers up 18% to 105 across the UK and Ireland.
Full-year group store sales in the two markets rose 22.8% to £43.1 million (NZ$95.8 million), while group revenue jumped 84% to £5.4 million (NZ$12.4 million), boosted by managed store income from its Dairygold partnership in Ireland.
EBITDA edged up to £565,000 (NZ$1.3 million) from £529,000 a year earlier.
Ireland was a standout, with store numbers growing 35% to 23 and continuing store sales climbing 29% to £13.3 million (NZ$30.5 million).
The group signed master franchise agreements for India and the UAE during the year and opened a store in Karachi, Pakistan.
Group debt was cut from £1.8 million to £1.1 million.
Cooks Coffee is targeting more than 300 stores across the UK and Ireland by the 2034 financial year.
