- Smeg has launched its breakfast appliances in a new colorway: Moonlight
- It’s a warm shade of cream with a soft matte finish
- The set includes a drip coffee maker, two-slice toaster, and electric kettle
The Smeg Drip Filter Coffee Machine is one of our all-time favorite coffee makers, thanks to its smart design, programmable timer, ability to brew a big batch of coffee at once, and simple interface. Now, it’s got a fresh new look that brings it right up to date, eschewing gloss finishes and candy tones for something more modern and subtle.
Moonlight is a new soft shade of dark cream that’s an ideal match for the more natural colors and textures that are dominating modern kitchen designs, making a refreshing break from bold hues and glossy chrome.
Smeg is keen to point out that the soft, neutral hue of Moonlight is timeless, and will work with any modern kitchen, but we’ve definitely seen a shift towards subdued shades recently. Pantone’s Colour of 2026 is a creamy shade called Cloud Dancer, for example, while KitchenAid has released all its automatic coffee makers in subtle Porcelain White with a satin finish.
Moonlight is a similar shade, but warmer, with a matte finish that helps it blend into the rest of the room and, according to Smeg’s designers, makes “functional moments feel calmer and more intentional.”
It’s not just the coffee maker either — the company has also given its 50s-style electric kettle and two-slice toaster the Moonlight treatment. All three are available now direct from Smeg’s online store, at £189.95 each for the toaster and the kettle, and £219.95 for the coffee machine.
Like what you see? The company says Moonlight will be be available across selected range cookers, fridges, extractor hoods and mixer taps later this year, so you can make your whole kitchen a little bit more relaxing.
