The new 7 Brew coffee and beverage drive-thru stand in Canandaigua is taking shape, although customers will have to wait until the end of May before its scheduled to open.
Workers on March 21 dropped a prefabricated stand in place at the former Denny’s restaurant site at 160 Eastern Blvd., sparking a bit of a buzz on social media.
Canandaigua, and the Finger Lakes region as a whole, is a thriving market, especially in summer for tourists and residents, said Brian Tierney, director of operations for 7 Brew in the Rochester and Syracuse area.
“Everyone is drawn to this area,” Tierney said. “We know we can create some loyal fans there.”

What to expect at 7 Brew in Canandaigua
7 Brew, which received approval from the Canandaigua City Planning Commission last December, offers more than 20,000 drink combinations.
There is no interior or exterior seating, and 7 Brew doesn’t serve food. Besides coffee, the menu includes tea, Italian sodas, smoothies, shakes, energy drinks and hot chocolate.
Although the stands are able to accommodate walk-up customers, baristas greet and serve customers at their cars and take orders on tablets, so there are no speaker boxes. Two drive-thru lanes will be constructed.

As an introduction to the community, businesses and organizations will be able to have free drinks delivered for a period of time before the scheduled opening. Donations also will be collected for Golisano Children’s Hospital.
The goal is to deliver as many as 25,000 free drinks before opening, Tierney said. Swag Day comes at the conclusion of opening week, during which customers who buy a large drink receive a free T-shirt.
“Just trying to get into the community and give to them before they give back,” Tierney said.
Who will work at 7 Brew in Canandaigua?
Hiring is set to begin at the end of April, Tierney said.
