Heated Rivalry Creator’s New Netflix TV Show Gets First Details

Heated Rivalry creator Jacob Tierney has officially found his next project, with Netflix ordering a new series from the creator.

What do we know about the Heated Rivalry creator’s new show on Netflix?

According to a new report from THR, Tierney will head up a new series that centers around Alexander the Great and his tutor, the legendary Greek philosopher Aristotle. The show is said to be based on Annabel Lyon’s 2009 novel The Golden Mean, which is named after Aristotle’s principle about virtue.

“The Athenian empire is crumbling and the world’s greatest mind, Aristotle, arrives in Macedonia to tutor a volatile young prince, Alexander. Amid palace intrigue, forbidden love, brutal war and ruthless ambitions, their unlikely friendship shapes an empire and alters the course of history,” reads the logline for the show.

Tierney will write and direct the series, and said in a statement that he’s excited to get to work on it.

“I fell in love with Annabel Lyon’s book The Golden Mean years ago and have been dreaming of telling this story ever since,” Tierney said in a statement. “Brendan and I couldn’t be more excited to be partnering with Aggregate and Netflix to bring this insanely compelling world to life.”

Currently, no casting information or any release info has been confirmed for the show. Tierney, Brendan Brady, Jason Bateman, and Michael Costigan will all be attached as executive producers. The news comes following the massive success Heated Rivalry has been. The series premiered in November 2025, and became the most-watched original series on Crave, while also becoming a global sensation. Tierney also developed and directed the hit sports comedy series Letterkenny.
