HBO Max‘s highly anticipated Heated Rivalry Season 2 has received a major update from series creator Jacob Tierney. This comes nearly three months after the popular romance drama was first released on Crave and HBO Max. Its first season currently holds a Certified Fresh rating of of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 87 reviews.
When is the release date window for Heated Rivalry Season 2?
During a recent interview with Gayle King on CBS Mornings, Tierney confirmed that production on Heated Rivalry Season 2 is scheduled to begin in August. In addition, King revealed the creative team is currently targeting an April 2027 release for the new installment.
“There will be more Heated Rivalry on your TVs, like, truly, as soon as humanly possible,” Tierney said.
The sports romance drama is based on the second book in Rachel Reid’s critically acclaimed Game Changers novel series. The ensemble cast includes Hudson Williams as Shane Hollander, Connor Storrie as Ilya Grigoryevich Rozanov, François Arnaud as Scott Hunter, Christina Chang as Yuna Hollander, Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova as Svetlana, Robbie G.K. as Kip, Sophie Nélisse as Rose, and more. The show is written, directed, and produced by Tierney. It is produced by Brendan Brady and Lori Fischburg, with Reid serving as a consulting producer.

Shane Hollander (Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Storrie) are two of the biggest stars in Major League Hockey, bound by ambition, rivalry, and a magnetic pull neither of them fully understands.
