The episode begins at the Forrester mansion with Brooke, Ridge, Katie, and Bill getting into a heated argument. Brooke refuses to take responsibility for what is happening with Eric and instead blames Katie. Bill and Donna get involved and accuse Brooke and Ridge of pushing Eric away. Ridge agrees that he was at fault and admits he never listened to his father.
He acknowledges that Eric made a deal with the Spencers because he felt unwanted. Despite this, Ridge announces that Eric will no longer be working for Bill and Katie and urges them to rip up the contract. Katie argues back, reminding Ridge of the help they gave Eric. Ridge insists that Eric is coming home to Forrester.

Electra hopes to mend things
Ivy recalls stealing Electra’s letter to Will and tells herself that their relationship is over for good. She later flashes back to hiding the letter in her purse. Elsewhere, Carter notices that Will is worried about his relationship, and Will admits that things are not going well.
Meanwhile, Electra hopes that after Will reads the letter, things will improve between them. After Will leaves, Carter and RJ remain in the room when two interns approach them for after-work drinks. Carter declines, saying he is a married man, and RJ also dismisses the invitation. RJ later tells Carter that he likes Electra, but Carter reminds him that she is with Will.
Ivy continues to cause trouble
In the design office, Will is upset after the necklace Electra gave him breaks. Instead of fixing it, he leaves it on the desk. Seizing the opportunity, Ivy takes the broken necklace and places it where Electra expects her letter to be, staging a misunderstanding.
She wants Electra to believe that Will read the letter and angrily discarded the necklace. Her plan works, and Electra is left heartbroken when she discovers the broken jewelry. Ivy secretly watches her reaction.
Ridge announces his father’s return to Forrester
Bill warns that Eric cannot back out of the contract and reminds Ridge of the support they offered him. Ridge intervenes, declaring that the deal is off and that his father is returning to Forrester Creations. Elsewhere, Will calls out for Dylan but receives no response.
RJ consoles Electra
After witnessing Electra’s distress, Ivy approaches RJ and tells him that Electra is going through a difficult time because of Will. Under the pretense of searching for a missing diamond necklace, she sends RJ to find her.
As Ivy continues to spy, RJ finds Electra in tears. Electra opens up about her troubles, believing that Will read her confession about Dylan and ended their relationship. RJ comforts her, and they share a hug.
