Lightware’s UCX signal management range and LARA automation platform, integrated with Cisco conferencing technology, underpin modernisation at global investment bank in Two International Finance Centre
Lightware signal management technology, integrated with Cisco conferencing systems, has been deployed across a global investment bank’s meeting-room AV infrastructure in Hong Kong, with systems integrator Global Vision Engineering (GVE) selected to design and implement the project.
The installation at the bank’s offices in the Two International Finance Centre encompasses 14 rooms – including small and large meeting rooms and a subdivisible multifunctional space – built around bring-your-own-meeting (BYOM) workflows and the bank’s existing Cisco conferencing standard.
The central requirement was a single USB-C cable connection allowing users to share content, charge their device and join meetings instantly, while also supporting native Cisco Webex functionality. Lightware says its partnership with Cisco was a key factor in meeting that brief, enabling switching between laptop-driven sessions and Webex calls without complex user intervention.
The six small meeting rooms use the Taurus UCX-4×2-HC40, chosen for its compact footprint, according to Lightware. USB-C and HDMI inputs connect users to room peripherals including a Cisco Room Bar Pro and 55in display. Cisco Room Navigator touch panels, connected via PoE, serve as the single point of room control, with a custom interface programmed by GVE offering one-touch source selection between USB-C, HDMI and a President PC input.
The seven large meeting rooms are fitted with Taurus TPX bundles – UCX-4×3-TPX-TX20 transmitters and UCX-3×3-TPX-RX20 receivers – supporting USB-C signal transmission at distances of up to 100m. These rooms add a professional audio system comprising a Shure ceiling array microphone and four ceiling loudspeakers, along with a 75in display and an additional USB-C input.
Customisation across all rooms was handled through Lightware’s Advanced Room Automation (LARA) platform, which GVE used to tailor the Cisco Navigator control interface to the bank’s specific internal requirements.
