The infamous sketch comedy The Dana Carvey Show will be available for free on the streaming platform Tubi soon. Abruptly cancelled before its first season was finished in 1996, the sketch series featured appearances from now household comedians like Steve Carell and Stephen Colbert. Considered ahead of its time, it had multiple skits written by Charlie Kaufman, Louis C.K., Dino Stamatopoulos, and more. While some episodes of the show can be found online, the full series will be added to the Tubi library for easy viewership.
The Dana Carvey Show will stream on Tubi in mid-January
The Dana Carvey Show will be available for streaming on Tubi starting Thursday, January 15, 2026.
It’s unclear how many episodes from the first season will be provided on the platform. However, it will likely be at least seven, given that only seven episodes of its first season were aired on ABC before it was cancelled.
The sketch comedy show was meant to feature ten episodes in total, but it was cut after the eighth episode was taped. A two-disc DVD set for the show released in 2009 featured the unaired eighth episode, so there’s a small chance that this will be added in the upcoming Tubi release.
The Dana Carvey Show was originally available for free to watch on Hulu, but the series is no longer on the streaming platform. Instead, a documentary going into trials and tribulations of the show’s production called “Too Funny to Fail: The Life & Death of The Dana Carvey Show” can be found there.
As noted by Carvey and producer Robert Smigel, many factors led to the show’s cancellation, including being too controversial for some advertisers at the time and being on the wrong network and in the wrong timeslot.
Comedy fans will recognize the show’s “The Ambiguously Gay Duo” animated sketch that was brought over to Saturday Night Live after the show was cancelled.
