WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Wichita Public Libraries celebrated the completion of its branch masterplan at the Rockwell Branch Library on Saturday.

In 2024, WPL received more than $2 million to expand and remodel four of its branch locations.

WPL Director of Libraries Jamie Nix emphasized the importance of modernizing libraries to keep up with societal advancements.

“What it means is that the city of Wichita has a revitalized library facility in all four quadrants of the city,” Nix said. “We have seven locations and a book bus as a way of delivering access to resources, but most importantly, a third space, a safe place for wondering and curiosity and community connections,” Nix said.
