Upgrade works are underway at mobile sites across Jersey as the island prepares for the roll out of a new 5G network.
Sure by Beyon said ahead of the launch of its new 5G services in 2026 it would upgrade the 18 pre-existing mobile sites on the island throughout November and December.
The telecommunications network said in October it would spend £100m across the Channel Islands and Isle of Man over the next five years, with nearly half of the money put towards delivering 100% 5G coverage.
Simon Baldwin, Sure’s chief commercial officer, said 5G would transform how people “live and work in Jersey, unlocking new possibilities for families, businesses and the wider community”.
