Teen Mom star Chelsea DeBoer has gone from MTV fame to starring on a hit HGTV series called Down Home Fab with her husband, Cole DeBoer, designing dream homes for many
Former Teen Mom star Chelsea DeBoer and her husband, Cole DeBoer, are the ones to call if you want to renovate or redecorate your home.
The married couple, who have a talent for turning a house into a home, showcased their housing design skills on their hit HGTV series Down Home Fab, which just had its third season. Together, Chelsea, 34, and Cole, 37, have developed a rhythm when it comes to running their Sioux Falls-based construction company in South Dakota, and transforming homes for loving families on Down Home Fab. Separating themselves from the masses of creatives in their industry, the construction and interior design husband-and-wife duo have coined a style that has become their signature, “cowboy contemporary.”
Chelsea and Cole divulged in an exclusive interview what the definition of “cowboy contemporary” was to The Mirror US.

The ex MTV personality explained that “cowboy contemporary” in home decor consists of “wood cabinets” and “wood tones” along with “varying colors.”
Chelsea added that it’s just about “mixing all the textures and kind of like a nature feel but still like a little modern twist.” The pair like to say “cowboy contemporary” is like a “worn lived in” feeling. Not only can homes exhibit their “cowboy contemporary” style, but so can celebrities.
“I don’t know what their design style is. As a person, I feel Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, they got to have kind of similar style, right?” Cole told the news outlet. “I feel like Laney Wilson, like she has that country vibe. I definitely think they probably have the same style for sure.”
Chelsea that “old school Taylor Swift” definitely showed “cowboy contemporary” style. The DeBoers, who have almost been married ten years, have achieved much in the home design industry, and on HGTV.
Season 3 of their HGTV show Down Home Fab brought in 7. 3 million viewers. Chelsea explained what she believed made their home design show stand out from others on the network.
“We kind of goof around a little bit and we’re not so serious and we’re not like cookie cutter. No, or as wholesome as maybe the other people are,” she said adding, “I am an HGTV fan. We [she and Cole] both are. yeah. but I do feel like a lot of the shows are very similar so we wanted ours to be a little bit different. And I think it’s just like a younger feel to it.”
Before HGTV and her marriage to Cole, Chelsea starred on MTV’s 16 & Pregnant and Teen Mom 2 in the 2010s. Cole also appeared on Teen Mom 2 with Chelsea as her then boyfriend. The two got married in 2016, and left Teen Mom 2 in 2020. Chelsea and Cole launched the first season of their show Down Home Fab in 2023.
