The two have a great relationship on and off the field, and AC Milan want to use this to ther advantage.
Kovacic is not in talks to extend his contract with City, which expires in 2027, and he could be available for a bargain fee of £9m, or €10m, according to the report.
Despite still having over a year remaining on his contract, Kovacic could exit early, given Guardiola’s attempts to bring more youth and energy into the squad.
The report also claims that there are other European clubs interested in Kovacic, but Modric’s influence could help Milan secure his signature.
