Westport Village hosting annual fashion show on Thursday
THAT LEAK. THEY’RE INVESTIGATING. FASHION WILL BE ON THE RUNWAY AT WESTPORT VILLAGE AS PART OF THE SHOPPING CENTER’S ANNUAL FALL FASHION SHOW. SAM CARTER FOUND OUT MUCH OF THE ATTENTION WILL BE ON SHOPPING LOCAL. LIKE IT OR NOT, THESE SEASONS ARE CHANGING. AND IF YOUR CLOSET COULD USE A REFRESH, A GOOD PLACE TO START JUST MIGHT BE THE WESTPORT VILLAGE FASHION SHOW THIS THURSDAY EVENING. WESTPORT VILLAGE SHOPPING CENTER WILL MOVE FROM COMMERCIAL TO COUTURE FOR THE ANNUAL WESTPORT VILLAGE FASHION SHOW. ONE OF THE FIVE BOUTIQUES PUTTING THEIR TRENDIEST LOOKS ON THE RUNWAY WILL BE DARLING STATE OF MIND. ONE OF THE MINDS BEHIND THE EVENT IS CARMEN SCHRIEBER, WHO SAYS THURSDAY IS ALL ABOUT SHOWING PEOPLE EVERYTHING THEY NEED IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER. THE FASHION IS HANDPICKED FROM THE OWNERS OF FIVE DIFFERENT LOCAL BOUTIQUES. THEY’RE PICKING THESE LOOKS THAT THEY WANT YOU TO SEE ON THE RUNWAY, AND THEN YOU CAN SHOP AFTER THE SHOW AND THEY’LL BE THERE. THEY’LL BE OPEN. THEY’RE READY TO TALK WITH YOU. If you are looking for ideas to fill your closet this fall, the Westport Village Fashion Show might be worth a visit.The fashion show will be Thursday, with a cocktail hour at 5 p.m. and the show starting at 6. Five different Westport Village boutiques are taking part. Each of them has curated multiple looks for the show.Apart from the fashion, six different Westport Village restaurants are also taking part, providing food and cocktails.One of the event’s organizers is Carmen Schreiber, who thinks the fashion show is all about finding looks provided by your neighbors and friends.“The fashion is hand-picked by the owners of five different local boutiques,” Schreiber said. “They are picking these looks that you see on the runway, and after the show, they will be there, ready to talk with you and help figure out your new fall look.”After the show, attendees are invited to shop at the participating boutiques. WLKY’s Alex Durham will serve as the event’s emcee.
