American star Amanda Anisimova beats Linda Noskova to win China Open in Beijing

Anisimova continued where she left off against Gauff at the start of her final with Noskova, taking just 23 minutes to win the first set, in which she lost just 12 points.

Noskova was reeling, yet she recovered brilliantly to break Anisimova in an 11-minute opening game of the second set and went on to break again to take it 6-2.

From there, the 20-year-old Czech looked the more likely victor. But Anisimova raised her game just when it mattered, breaking in the sixth game to take a 4-2 lead.

She then clinched the title with with another break, sealed with a backhand winner, and collapsed to the floor in delight, before racing to her box to embrace her coaching team.

“Amanda has been playing amazing the whole year,” said runner-up Noskova. “You have been more than annoying for the rest of us!”
