Beijing is taking another step to bring its technology giants to heel, this time by embedding independent supervisors inside the companies themselves. New draft regulations released for public comment by the Cyberspace Administration of China would mandate the creation of “Personal Information Protection Supervisory Committees” at the country’s largest online platforms.
