1 of the Best Superhero Trilogies To Stream on Hulu

Hulu is expanding its streaming library next month with the addition of one of the best MCU trilogies. These films were not only commercially successful but also delivered some of the MCU’s most defining stories.

Chris Evans-led Captain America movies are coming to Hulu

Three MCU films — Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Captain America: Civil War — will begin streaming on Hulu from Monday, June 1, 2026.

The trilogy began with Captain America: The First Avenger, which introduced the titular hero, played by Chris Evans, and served as a stepping stone for the franchise. The Oscar-winning filmmaker Joe Johnston directed it with a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

Its story took place during World War II, where a frail-looking yet highly determined Steve Rogers is injected with an experimental super-soldier serum that gives him superhuman abilities. The film debuted in theaters on July 22, 2011, and received a favorable reception. On Rotten Tomatoes, it currently holds a critics’ score of 80% and a user score of 75%. At the global box office, it made approximately $370.5 million.

The second installment, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, arrived in theaters on April 4, 2014. The story took a darker turn with Bucky, Steve’s best friend, returning as the Winter Soldier after years of being presumed dead. It added conspiracy thriller elements, steering the franchise in a new direction.

Anthony and Joe Russo helmed the sequel with Markus and McFeely returning as the lead writers. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has the highest scores of all three films. While the critics gave it a score of 90%, the users rated it 92%. It ended its theatrical run with a global haul of $714.4 million.

The Russo Brothers also directed the third film, Captain America: Civil War, which premiered in theaters on May 6, 2016. It explored the iconic Civil War arc, which split the Avengers into two factions.

Upon release, the film garnered an overwhelming response from both the audience and critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, it boasts a critics’ score of 90% and a user score of 89%. Commercially, it made over $1.15 billion from global markets, more than the first two entries combined.
