Iran on Wednesday warned the United States of “unforgettable lessons” after a US strike in the country’s southern Hormozgan province killed four people, including a child, and wounded more than 50 others at a wedding celebration.
The Iranian Red Crescent said shrapnel from a US missile strike hit a residential home in Kuhestak city in Sirik county, where a wedding was taking place.
“Following a US missile attack, shrapnel hit a residential home in the city of Kuhestak, in Sirik county of Hormozgan province, where a wedding celebration was taking place,” the Red Crescent said in a post on X.
“More than 50 people were injured and four people, including a young child, were martyred,” it added.

The incident took place in Sirik county, which lies along the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, a major global shipping route.
Iran Vows Retaliation
Reacting to the US attack, Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said, “The dear nation of Iran and the resistance front have unforgettable lessons for the American enemy”, as reported by Tasnim News Agency.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards also vowed retaliation against the United States following the latest strikes.
Revolutionary Guards spokesman Hossein Mohebi warned on X that Washington “will regret its new attacks”, adding that “severe punishment awaits the aggressors.”
Iran Attacks American Bases
Iran subsequently launched missile and drone attacks targeting American bases in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan. The Revolutionary Guards said they also carried out a “coordinated missile and drone attack on US bases in Erbil” in Iraq’s autonomous Kurdistan region.
The Guards claimed the Erbil strikes destroyed a maintenance centre, warehouses and the “guidance system of a US surveillance aerostat”.
In Jordan, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards said a US Marine Corps base was targeted in an “intense ballistic missile attack”.
The Jordanian military said it intercepted 10 ballistic missiles fired from Iran and reported no confirmed casualties or direct hits on the US training facility. Three other missiles, it said, landed in remote areas.
Missile and drone activity was also reported in Kuwait, while air-raid sirens were heard in Bahrain.
US Says It Does Not Target Civilians
Washington has said its latest strikes were aimed at Iranian Revolutionary Guards targets following what it described as attacks against commercial shipping and American personnel in the region.

US Central Command said the strikes followed “recent attempted attacks by (the Revolutionary Guards) against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and against American service members deployed to the region”.
US President Donald Trump said the strikes were carried out in retaliation for Iran’s “failed attempt at adding sea mines to the Strait” and for Iran firing eight missiles at a US military base in Jordan.
Asked whether the US military had received credible reports of civilian casualties from Tuesday’s strikes, US Central Command spokesperson Captain Tim Hawkins said “the US military never targets civilians, unlike the IRGC”.
It remained unclear what exactly was targeted in Sirik county when shrapnel struck the residential property where the wedding was taking place.
Strikes Continue Around Strait Of Hormuz
Iranian media reported explosions in several locations along and east of the Strait of Hormuz, as well as at an airport in Kerman province.
Iran’s official IRNA news agency also reported that “four projectiles hit areas within the counties of Chabahar and Konarak”, without providing further details on damage or casualties.
The latest escalation comes amid a wider confrontation that began on February 28, when US and Israeli strikes hit Iran and killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei along with senior military officials.
While the initial bombardment lasted nearly 40 days, sporadic strikes, particularly around the Strait of Hormuz, have continued.
The conflict has also severely disrupted shipping through the strategic waterway, through which roughly one-fifth of global oil supplies flowed before the war.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Tuesday that Tehran would match any US move towards a deal aimed at ending the war, but warned that a return by Washington to “a policy of pressure and threats could derail the path of diplomacy”.
