WASHINGTON (TNND) — President Donald Trump shared what appeared to be an AI-generated image of a large golden eagle attached to the Truman Balcony at the White House ahead of America’s 250th birthday celebration.
“A Golden Gift to the White House for its 250th Birthday Year!” Trump wrote alongside the image in a Truth Social post.
The White House also shared Trump’s post on Instagram and X.
However, CNN reported that the image’s metadata suggests it was created using Google AI. The outlet also noted the eagle’s shield features only 11 stars, rather than the 13 traditionally used to represent the original U.S. colonies.
Freelance photographer Andrew Leyden also posted photos on X of the Truman Balcony after Trump’s post was shared. The images did not show the golden eagle.

Trump has previously shared digitally altered and AI-generated images on social media, including one depicting him as a Jesus-like figure healing the sick and another showing him and several Cabinet members swimming in the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool ahead of its planned renovations.
