On the news front, the government work report proposed the implementation of an industrial innovation project to build emerging pillar industries such as aerospace, and accelerate the development of satellite internet. China is firmly focusing on achieving technological self-reliance and expediting the construction of a strong aerospace nation by incorporating commercial aerospace into the national overall plan. The country is strengthening policy empowerment and industry regulation, refining support policies, opening up research projects, encouraging private capital participation, and accelerating the construction of infrastructure such as satellite internet constellations and commercial launch sites. Demonstrative application scenarios in communication and navigation fields are being created, while open platforms are established to lower application thresholds and stimulate market momentum. Enterprises are taking the lead in strengthening and supplementing the industrial chain, relying on the Belt and Road Initiative to promote the overseas expansion of the industrial chain, forming a comprehensive overseas development pattern, enhancing China’s global competitiveness and discourse power in commercial aerospace, and empowering national economic construction.

The China National Space Administration has established a Commercial Space Department and launched an action plan to advance high-quality and secure development in commercial space. The plan proposes establishing a mandatory insurance system for commercial space activities. Entering 2026, the construction of China’s low-orbit satellite internet will enter a peak period of launches, with frequent launches of reusable rockets driving rapid expansion of the commercial rocket industry.
