Private insurers are working to ease the prior authorization process. Here’s what that means.

Some private health insurers are promising to speed up and reduce a process called prior authorizations, which could impact up to 257 million Americans. Beginning in January, participating insurers will reduce the scope of claims needing pre-approval. CBS News MoneyWatch correspondent Kelly O’Grady explains.
