If you’ve been a loyal fan of Park Seo Joon, you’re probably well-acquainted with the magnificent physique that sends K-drama fans into a full-on swoon. Whether he was throwing punches in Fight For My Way and Divine Fury, or charming everyone in Itaewon Class, his fit bod has consistently been a scene-stealer.
As the newest superbod in the Century Tuna family, the K-drama star shared his secrets and routine for being physically fit during the press conference in Manila ahead of the “Fit For Any Role: Park Seo Jun The Ultimate Fan Fest” last July 12.
Seo Joon shared that he used to kick off his workouts with 30 minutes of stretching, followed by 30 to 40 minutes of weight training, and then cap it all off with a five-kilometer run. But with his packed schedule now, he dedicates at least 30 minutes a day to various bodyweight workouts, like calisthenics.
More than the physical aspect, Seon Joon said that the most important part of being fit is having a healthy mind.
“As time passed by, I realized that the most important health we must maintain is our mental health. And for us to have a healthy mind, we must first have a healthy body,” he told the members of the press.
He added, “For us to have a healthy body, if we have difficulties in running or starting a very difficult exercise, we can start by walking and doing simple exercises. Through that, by maintaining physical health, we may also maintain our mental health.”
The Dream star echoed this during his fan meet at the Araneta Coliseum.
“Beyond just physical health, I think having an optimistic mind helps you a lot to also stay fit; And whatever you go through, if you have this optimistic mind, it is very easy to overcome those difficulties,” Seon Joon said through an interpreter.
He also has some advice to those who want to start their fitness journey: “Just start moving.”
“I always see a lot of people around me saying that, ‘I have to start working out.’ But whenever I see that, sometimes they don’t. What I want to tell them is, ‘You just have to start,'” he said.
“Just starting moving, don’t think what you’re doing, just start. While you do that, you’ll see the different results and feel the satisfaction coming from working out,” he added.
