A Moroccan man was sentenced to 18 months in jail for snatching a £38,000 (US$50,000) Rolex watch from a Hong Kong tourist in the U.K.
Aylan Snouci, 22, admitted one count of robbery at a Southwark Crown court this week, Telegraph reported.
Snouci illegally arrived in the U.K. in February. In April, he followed Woosang Hwang through Market Mews in Mayfair before grabbing him from behind and wrenching the designer watch from his wrist, Daily Mail reported.
The victim was left with cuts and bruises, but Snouci was quickly caught and the watch was recovered.
Snouci will be deported after serving the jail term, the court ruled.
