Video clips and photos circulating online show that the truck was carrying pig carcasses, and the store was the 7-Eleven outlet opposite Lan Fong Yuen, a Hong Kong-style cafe.

The store’s sign was heavily damaged, while firefighters used supporting equipment to prevent the truck from collapsing.

In response to the accident, the Transport Department closed the only lane of Gage Street between Lyndhurst Terrace and Peel Street to traffic at 8.44am. It was reopened at 11.54am.
