British music icons Madness have been announced as the Saturday night headliners.
The band, whose career spans more than four decades, will bring their unmistakable mix of ska, pop and punk to the main stage on Saturday, May 23 , as the popular festival returns for its fourth year.
Known for classics such as Our House, It Must Be Love, Baggy Trousers and One Step Beyond, Madness have built a reputation as one of the country’s most enduring and crowd-pleasing live acts and organisers say they are delighted to be able to finally share the signing.
Festival director James Murden said: “This is one we’ve been waiting a long time to announce.
“Madness have been at the top of our wishlist for years, and we’re thrilled to finally welcome them to Good Times Live.
“Their music means something to so many generations it’s going to be a real moment for the town.”
The performance will mark a rare opportunity for local audiences to see the band in a more intimate setting.
Madness are used to selling out large arenas and headlining major festivals, but organisers say the Chipping Sodbury show will have a uniquely local feel.
Production manager Tom Campbell said preparations were already under way to accommodate the scale of the show.
He added:“The production is so big, we’re upgrading the main stage to make it even larger.
“It’s fantastic to bring something of this size to a community setting ,the whole team is excited about what it will mean for the town.”
Good Times Live, now firmly established on the South West festival calendar, will again combine live music, comedy and family entertainment over the late May bank holiday weekend.
Alongside Madness, this year’s line-up includes chart-topping singer Emeli Sandé and comedian Russell Howard, both with strong connections to the region.
The event has grown significantly since its early days, drawing visitors from across the country while keeping a strong local identity.
Organisers say 2026’s edition aims to celebrate both national talent and the South West’s creative spirit, with food, craft, and community zones complementing the main stage.
