Madelyn Cline fans get emotional over her longest show ending as Outer Banks Season 5 trailer drops. The hit Netflix series, which premiered in 2020, will conclude with its fifth and final season this August. However, the show has more plans for fans before the emotional farewell.
The synopsis of the final season reads, “Season 5 finds the Pogues at their absolute breaking point following the tragic loss of JJ (Rudy Pankow) in Morocco. Stranded far from home and mourning the heart of their crew, they’ve lost the Blue Crown and continue to face a gauntlet of familiar threats.”

Netflix announces a farewell event for Outer Banks
The new trailer offers a glimpse of what’s to come in the show’s final season. Netflix also released key art and additional photos along with an exciting announcement for fans.
According to Deadline, Netflix has announced Pogues For Life: A Fan Farewell Event With The Cast Of Outer Banks. This will take place on August 15, 2026, in Los Angeles, ahead of the final season’s premiere. The event will be livestreamed on Tudum.com.
The event will also feature the inaugural Pogue Awards, a fan-voted ceremony celebrating iconic moments from the series. Following the awards, Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Carlacia Grant, and Drew Starkey will take the stage for a cast interview with fans.
The event will conclude with a screening of the Season 5 premiere. Outer Banks’ final season will be available for streaming on August 20, 2026.
