Julián Quiñones emerged as one of Mexico’s standout performers at the 2026 World Cup and, after a string of impressive displays, the Al-Qadsiah forward has attracted interest from several of Europe’s biggest clubs.
The Premier League could be Quiñones’s next destination, with the striker expected to decide his future in the coming weeks as discussions continue over his situation in Saudi Arabia and the sizeable release clause in his contract.
Although there have been no formal offers, reports from multiple international outlets suggest that Chelsea and Aston Villa are among the Premier League clubs monitoring the former Atlas and América star.
Both clubs are aiming to build on ambitious projects ahead of the new season. Chelsea are undergoing a major rebuild under Xabi Alonso, while Aston Villa, led by Unai Emery, are looking to build on the success that has seen the Spaniard establish the club as a regular contender for European football.
Villa, the reigning Europa League champions, already boast a strong squad and are expected to strengthen further as they look to challenge once again for the Premier League’s top places and potentially even mount a surprise title challenge.
However, breaking into Emery’s side would not be easy. Despite Quiñones’s versatility as both a centre forward and a winger, he would face stiff competition from the likes of Emiliano Buendía, Lewis Dobbin, Leon Bailey and Ollie Watkins for a place in the starting XI.
Chelsea also present an intriguing option. With Alonso overseeing a significant squad overhaul, players such as Alejandro Garnacho and Jamie Gittens are expected to depart, potentially creating an opening on the left flank.
Even so, competition at Stamford Bridge would be fierce, with Estevão, Pedro Neto, João Pedro, Liam Delap, Marc Guiu and David Fofana among the attacking options already available.
Julian Quiñones was spotted on a plane and was cheered by passengers, being welcomed as a national hero. 🏆
