Yi Xin Cafe (2919 Kapiolani Blvd.) is the perfect spot for any group lunch or dinner. Try its Hong Kong at Your Doorstep special (dine-in only, $35). It comes with HK-style garlic fried chicken wings, a baked pork chop with tomato sauce and cheese on rice, and a choice of a HK iced milk tea or lemon tea. If you’re visiting with a large group, add an order of the live Dungeness curry crab.

Comfort Galore
Heavenly Island Lifestyle Hawaii Kai (7192 Kalanianaole Hwy.) has partnered with chef Steven Yang of Yang’s Hawaii to create a Cha Chaan Teng menu featuring three comfort dishes. The congee ($10) is made of rice, hondashi, shoyu and mirin; the Hong Kong French toast ($12) represents the indulgence and optimism of many Hong Kong cafes; and the baked macaroni ($13) is inspired by Western ovens and ingredients, and features macaroni, ground beef, carrots, onions, tomatoes and a cheese blend.
