Galaxy S25 Ultra and S24 Ultra Hit With Triple Whammy of Update Bugs – Tech Advisor

Samsung is yet to officially acknowledge the issues, let alone release a patch. But other users have suggested some potential fixes in the meantime.

“Severe standby battery drain”

The first, and seemingly most widespread, issue concerns battery drain while the phone is in standby mode – e.g. locked but not switched off.

According to one user in the Samsung Community forums, previously normal battery life patterns on their S25 Ultra shifted hugely after the update. The battery percentage supposedly dropped from 85% to just over 5% in under 12 hours, despite only 2 hours and 9 minutes of active usage.

A separate post in the same forums describes the S24 Ultra suffering from “massive battery drain”.

Comments on this post, as well as via Reddit threads, suggest that the issue is widespread.

Suggested fixes include clearing the cache partition, putting unused apps into deep sleep mode and running safe mode to see if the offending app/s can be isolated. Also, turning battery protection to maximum, ensuring wireless power sharing is off and disabling nearby device scanning and RAM Plus settings.
