Former Shenango China plant owner facing charges | Local News

Local officials are getting serious about enforcing code violations against the Canadian owner of the ramshackle former Shenango China plant building.

The New Castle police Thursday filed criminal charges against David Choi, 76, of Scarborough, Ontario, owner of the property, who does business as Realities USA. The charges come after New Castle’s code enforcement department saw no results or fines paid from 14 non-traffic citations it filed against Choi five years ago for the dilapidated conditions of the 34.34-acre property and nearly vacant 340,076-square-foot building that in New Castle’s heyday housed its world-famous china production plant.
