The currently in-development Fast & Furious TV shows recently received some news, including more clarification on how many projects are in the works.
What do we know about the upcoming Fast & Furious TV shows?
During NBCUniversal’s upfront presentation on Wednesday (via Deadline), Vin Diesel took to the stage to showcase new projects. During the presentation, Diesel revealed that Peacock was developing four different TV shows set in the Fast & Furious universe.
The first series, according to Deadline, is in the works from Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman, while the other three are said to be in the works from Nick Wootton and Charmaine DeGraté, and Ingrid Ecajeda and Joe Henderson.
Although the projects are in development, Deadline’s report on the news notes that there is no concrete plans for the three series to come out, but instead will see NBCUniversal evaluate each project as it begins to turn in scripts. As for plot, nothing is known about any of the four, but all will exist inside of the franchise in some capacity.
It’s also unclear whether or not the projects will feature any of the main stars of the film franchise, so we’ll have to wait for more information. The Fast & Furious franchise stretches across 11 total films, with a 12th, Fast Forever, currently set to release on March 17, 2028.
“As you all know, we are very precious about these movies but over the last decade, we’ve realized that the fans have wanted more, they wanted us to expand the legacy characters, their stories,” Diesel said at the Upfront. “And for the last decade, the desire has been for us to enter the TV space.”
