Celebrity row at Madison Square Garden is getting the presidential treatment.
President Donald Trump is expected to attend Game 3 of the NBA Finals alongside New York Knicks owner James Dolan as the championship series between the Knicks and San Antonio Spurs shifts to New York on Monday. Trump, who has frequented sporting events throughout his presidency, from Super Bowl 59 to numerous UFC events, will become the first sitting U.S. president to attend an NBA Finals game.
“I’ve been a Knick fan for a long time,” Trump told reporters last week. “They’re really great, a great team.”
Trump won’t be the only notable figure to attend the first NBA Finals game at Madison Square Garden since 1999. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani confirmed that he bought his own ticket to attend.
Actors Ben Stiller, Timothée Chalamet, director Spike Lee, comedian Tracy Morgan and rapper Fat Joe have been mainstays during the Knicks’ run to the NBA Finals and even traveled to watch the Knicks take Game 1 and Game 2 in San Antonio. Will the contingent of superfans be in the stands on Monday?
