FX Networks has released the trailer for It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 18 ahead of its premiere next month. The new trailer marks the sitcom’s return after a year. The trailer puts the spotlight on Danny DeVito‘s Frank Reynolds, who is getting ready to marry the love of his life, only to find her dead before the ceremony even begins. Instead of calling it off, Frank decides to go through the wedding anyway.
The official synopsis for It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 18 reads, “Charlie (Charlie Day), Mac (Rob Mac), Dennis (Glenn Howerton), Dee (Kaitlin Olson), and Frank (Danny DeVito) are wrapped up in salvaging inheritances from a dead woman, surviving tent encampments and the great inside-outside divide between the haves and have-nots, withstanding job loss at the hands of workplace automation, embracing a newfound appreciation for neurodivergence, questioning the fabric of society against conspiracy theories, and of course — the biggest elephant in the room — outlasting the public’s pendulum swing against drinking.”

What happens in the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 18 trailer?
The trailer offers a fresh look at the gang’s latest adventures. Frank, Charlie, Mac, Dennis, and Dee are seen playing a baseball game, visiting a Renaissance faire, and trying to sell non-alcoholic beer at Paddy’s Pub.
The main talk of the trailer is the bride in question, which is Carol Kane‘s Samantha. She got engaged to Frank after he became the Golden Bachelor in the previous season‘s ending. Dee shows Samantha around and introduces her to some of the show’s iconic characters.
While everyone is preparing for the wedding, Dennis jokes that he hopes the wedding doesn’t end up looking like a funeral. Then the trailer cuts to Charlie starting to sing, “She’s dead, take a good look cause she’s gone” while her body is carried down the aisle. While everyone seems to pretend everything is fine, Frank kisses the corpse, leaving everyone shocked.
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 18 will have 10 episodes, after its last three seasons consisting of eight each. The first two episodes will make their debut on August 17, 2026, exclusively on FXX and Hulu.
