Erling Haaland and Vinicius Junior have nine goals between them at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Sunday’s winner could be determined by which superstar scores the most goals.
Haaland was the only one of the two to score in the round of 32. He scored an 86th-minute winner against Ivory Coast.
Vinicius was not on the score sheet against Japan, but he was active force in trying to break down the Samurai Blue’s back line.
The two players can each change games with goals, but they do so in different ways.
Vinicius is the better on-the-ball player. He’ll look to create separation in 1v1 battles and then fire on goal.
Haaland is far more dominant in the air and typically doesn’t need much time on the ball to find the back of the net.
Each player should get a few chances to score on Sunday, and since they’ve scored the bulk of their team’s World Cup goals, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the superstar that scores the most advance.
