Brazil beans brew new life into Pisgah Forest coffee scene, pouring cups 15-years


For Pisgah Coffee Roaster co-owner Jotham Lipsi, coffee is more than just a morning beverage; it’s in his blood.

Lipsi spent his childhood growing up on his family’s coffee farm in Brazil.

From playing in the forest to working in the fields, he learned all about the family business. As a young man, he made his way to western North Carolina and attended Brevard College.

It’s in western North Carolina that he met his wife, Leigh, and settled down to start a family of his own.

With his father as his business partner, they started importing and selling coffee beans from their contacts in Brazil.

The business grew, and they have now been running their coffee roasting facility, located at 6282 Asheville Highway in Pisgah Forest, along with its attached coffee shop in Pisgah Forest for over 15 years.
