Bottega has partnered with Avolta to promote healthy eating through its Prosecco Bars at Dubai International Airport and Abu Dhabi International Airport, launching the ‘Healthy Gourmet’ project on 4 February, 2026 to coincide with World Cancer Day.
As part of the initiative, a dish from La salute si fa gourmet (Health Becomes Gourmet), written by Professor Alberto Bombardella and Professor Fabiana Ojan, was introduced to the menus at both airport locations. The project aims to raise awareness of the link between nutrition, wellbeing and the prevention of diet-related cancers.
The initiative follows the recent recognition of Italian cuisine as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Through Bottega’s partnership with Avolta, the Prosecco Bars at Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports are being used as high-profile platforms to engage international travellers on the importance of healthy lifestyles, beginning with food choices.
Bottega and Avolta joined the initiative to help amplify its preventative health message through some of the world’s busiest airport transit hubs.
Each Prosecco Bar features a selected dish from the book. The Dubai location introduced three-cabbage couscous with taggiasca olives and beccafico-style sole fillets, a recipe blending Mediterranean and Middle Eastern influences. The Abu Dhabi Prosecco Bar serves barley and bean soup, a dish rooted in Venetian culinary tradition.
As part of the initiative, Bottega and Avolta will donate a portion of proceeds from sales of the featured dishes to the Al Jalila Foundation, a Dubai-based charitable organisation supporting medical research, health education and community healthcare programmes.
