On September 26, 2026, as part of the Second Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, held under the patronage of His Excellency Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, SOCAR and the Italian Football Federation signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement, APA-Economics reports.
Under the agreement, SOCAR will become the Top Global Energy Sponsor of Italy’s men’s and women’s national football teams for a four-year period, from 1 January 2027 through 31 December 2030. The partnership also provides for the possibility of a two-year extension through 2032.
This partnership reflects the importance SOCAR attaches to its long-term presence in Italy and demonstrates the company’s intention to contribute to the future development of Italian football, which is renowned worldwide for its traditions and achievements.
