MANILA – The death toll from the Nepal-China floods has surpassed 900, with thousands more still missing. Rescue efforts remain underway despite the constant threat of heavy rainfall, renewed flooding, and severe weather. The disaster struck on the morning of August 26, 2026, when a Himalayan glacier collapsed. The outburst triggered a massive torrent of water, mud, and debris through the Bhotekoshi river basin, sweeping away entire homes and families in seconds.
