Inter are planning to triple Francesco Pio Esposito’s salary to stave off interest from Premier League clubs, claim reports, after a meeting with his agent.

The striker is a product of their youth academy and had gone on loan to Spezia in 2024-25, so was expected to do the same last term too.

However, after impressing in the summer under new coach Cristian Chivu, it was decided he would remain, turning into a genuine hitman with 11 goals and seven assists in 50 competitive games.

Now 21, his contract has another four years left to run, but Inter want to be sure he is not tempted by any big money offers from abroad, specifically from English clubs circling.

Esposito’s agent met with directors yesterday to discuss the terms of a new agreement, and although there is no signature yet, things are progressing well.

According to Sky Sport Italia and Tuttosport, the idea is to triple his salary to €3.2m per season including performance-related bonuses.
