Family travel requires considering not only flights and accommodations but also children’s breakfast and beds, transportation, and local itineraries. Even for the same destination, the necessary products and benefits vary depending on the number of traveling companions and the age of the children. By analyzing actual booking data, travel platforms can identify what services family customers seek at each stage of the process.
MyRealTrip identified demand for accommodations for groups of three or more and for trips with children from Hong Kong booking data over the past two years. Based on this, it organized the ‘Only in Hong Kong’ family travel promotion in collaboration with the Hong Kong Tourism Board, connecting flights, hotels, tours, and admission tickets.

From flights to hotels and theme parks… a special exhibition for travel preparations
MyRealTrip is holding the ‘Only in Hong Kong Family Travel Promotion’ in collaboration with the Hong Kong Tourism Board. The benefits apply to travel products departing or booked by September 15.
According to an analysis of booking data from the past two years by MyRealTrip, three out of every ten accommodation bookings in Hong Kong involved three or more people. During the same period, at least one out of every ten Hong Kong travel bookings included a child.
Cathay Pacific, T’way Air, and Jeju Air are participating in the special promotion, offering discounted airfares for Hong Kong routes. Users can compare flights, schedules, and prices to select a package that fits their family composition.
Family-friendly hotels offer free breakfast for up to two children per room. Benefits also include free extra beds for children aged 12 and under. Some hotels offer free shuttle buses, bunk bed rooms, and children’s amenities.
Local tours and admission tickets are organized around products that families can enjoy together. Discounts of up to 20% apply to theme park admission tickets, night tours, cable cars, and more.
When purchasing Ocean Park admission tickets for two, an additional ticket is provided. For Hong Kong Disneyland 1-day tickets, customers purchasing for two receive two food and beverage vouchers. Specific benefits and applicable conditions may vary depending on the product and date of use.
“A MyRealTrip official stated, ‘Since family trips involve many decisions, the process of selecting and suggesting necessary products is crucial,’ adding, ‘We planned this with the Hong Kong Tourism Board to allow travelers to prepare everything from flights and accommodations to local itineraries all at once.'”
Rather than offering blanket discounts across all destinations, this special promotion utilized actual booking numbers and the proportion of travelers accompanied by children as criteria for product design. This approach leverages customer data accumulated on the platform to refine the composition of travel products and partnership benefits.
