Despite several delays in negotiations with Premier League giants, Inter have not pulled themselves out of the race to acquire Liverpool central midfielder Curtis Jones, as coach Christian Chivu deems the English international as his primary target to bolster the central area of the pitch.
Milanese journal La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that with a short window of nearly two weeks before the Serie A 2026-27 campaign kicks off, the Nerazzurri remain hopeful in attaining a complete squad prior to the opening match against Monza.
As it stands, Liverpool remains firm on their €40m evaluation for the 25-year-old midfield starlet, albeit his contract with the Reds expiring in the summer of 2027.
Hence, Inter are seeking to offload former Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattessi as soon as possible as he is no longer part of coach Christian Chivu’s plans and the departure of the Italian international would make room for Curtis Jones to arrive at San Siro.
