Fans of Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson have two action-comedy movies to add to their Netflix watchlists today. The Hitman’s Bodyguard and The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, both featuring Ryan and Jackson, are available for streaming on Netflix in the U.S. starting August 1.
Both films bring back one of Hollywood’s most popular action-comedy duos. They also feature Salma Hayek in a significant role alongside Reynolds and Jackson.
The first movie is about elite bodyguard Michael Bryce (Ryan Reynolds). He is tasked with protecting hitman Darius Kincaid (Samuel L. Jackson) as he travels to testify at the International Criminal Court. In the sequel, Bryce gets entangled in another dangerous mission by Sonia Kincaid (Salma Hayek), Darius’ outspoken wife. Patrick Hughes directed both films.
The franchise also features Gary Oldman, Richard E. Grant, Elodie Yung, Antonio Banderas, and Morgan Freeman.
