NBC’s Chicago Fire sees another cast member exit ahead of the Season 15 premiere. Daniel Kyri and Jake Lockett previously departed the show after Season 13. Joe Minoso is also set to leave in Season 15.
According to Deadline‘s sources, Dermot Mulroney will bid farewell to the NBC show. His storyline will wrap up earlier in the upcoming season, and fans are happy about it.
Since he is not the only one who is leaving the show, many are concerned about the franchise. User @Sophielx0911 commented on X, “They need to tell us what’s going on with the show and the whole franchise.”
Others stated that he will be missed. X user @catherine011684 wrote, “Oh! No!! This is too much to handle!! I love Dermot! He did a fabulous job! And he fit the role! I guess he’s doing other things, saw his movie, it was pretty good, I’m upset, I really liked him on the show! Now we have to get used to too many new people!!”
Alongside portraying Chief Dom Pascal in Chicago Fire, he also played a series regular on Netflix drama, The Hunting Wives. This show recently wrapped filming its second season while awaiting a green light from the streamer for the third season’s production.
How Chicago Fire plans to address its latest cast departure
Season 15 story will follow the aftermath of the NBC show’s Season 14 finale, with Pascal going on hiatus and spending time off-screen. However, he returned in the final episode and discussed Kelly Severide’s professional options between Chief of Firehouse 51 and Chief of Fire Investigation.
As Severide was sharing his decision, an emergency call interrupts them. It was regarding a major warehouse fire that could potentially cost firefighters’ lives. Although Pascal was not on the frontline, he was part of the crew outside, desperately trying to save his colleagues as the roof began to collapse.
Season 15 of Chicago Fire will premiere on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.
